Everything Breaks is a vehicle service contract provider that also offers home warranties and electronics warranties. The company does things a little differently from other warranty providers because it only offers month-to-month contracts and doesn’t charge for multiple years in advance. It has five four warranty plans plus another option called Critical Care that is more like an auto club.
While these plans are commonly known as extended warranties, what Everything Breaks offers are actually vehicle service contracts. Manufacturers are the only entities that can offer true extended warranties.

Everything Breaks offers four extended warranty plans:
- Topline: This option covers any mechanical breakdown except for exclusions and is similar to a factory warranty (eligible under 125,000 miles, expires at 175,000)
- Deluxe: This plan covers 125 major components in most systems of the vehicle like the electrical, braking, fuel, and cooling systems (eligible under 150,000 miles, expires at 175,000)
- Enhanced Powertrain: This plan covers 60 components on major vehicle systems like the engine, transmission, and air conditioning (eligible under 200,000 miles, expires at 250,000)
- Powertrain: This plan covers 15 components in the engine, transmission, and drive axle (eligible under 200,000 miles, expires at 250,000)
Depending on your car’s existing mileage, you may have a couple of options for coverage. If your mileage is at 100,000, you can choose Topline or Deluxe plans, for example. If it’s above 150,000, you can choose from Enhanced Powertrain or Powertrain.
Everything Breaks offers Elite versions of these plans that cover luxury vehicles. The mileage eligibility limits are slightly lower for Elite plans.
There’s something else to note, too. All plans cover the engine, drive axle, and transmission. However, the Topline and Deluxe plans cover more components within these systems than the others. The Topline and Deluxe plans cover 18 components in the engine while the Enhanced Powertrain and Powertrain plans cover 9 components.

Everything Breaks offers another option called Critical Care. This is different from an extended warranty. Instead, it’s more like an auto club. One of the benefits is you get reimbursement for 50% of any repair (up to $500 per breakdown and $2,000 per year). The plan also provides access to certified technicians who can help you diagnose an issue over the phone. Technicians can make sure the repair shop diagnoses the breakdown correctly, too.
Critical Care is Everything Breaks’ most affordable option. It’s designed for older vehicles and doesn’t have a mileage limit. You’re more likely to benefit from this plan if you have a high-mileage car that’s prone to breakdowns.
Everything Breaks Car Warranty Benefits
All extended warranty plans from Everything Breaks include the following benefits:
- Rental car reimbursement: Everything Breaks will reimburse you $30 per day for up to five days when your car is in the shop for a covered repair. This benefit excludes the time you might spend waiting for the shop to receive parts. It ends when the shop notifies you that your car is ready.
- Trip interruption: This benefit reimburses you $75 per day for up to three days if your car breaks down far away from home and is held overnight in a repair shop.
- Roadside assistance: This benefit covers towing, battery jump-start, fuel delivery, spare tire installation, and lock-out assistance up to $100 per occurrence.

Also, there’s a chance that your rates might change as your car ages. The salesperson we spoke to locked in our rate for 30 months, so we assume the rate could change after that point.
